
The Confederation Bridge joins the eastern Canadian provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, making travel throughout the Maritimes easy and convenient. The curved, 8 mile long bridge is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water.

The potato industry is a major economic engine for the Province of Prince Edward Island. Prince Edward Island produces approximately 25% of the total potato crop grown in Canada each year.

Glenwood Pond
Original location of the Glenwood Saw Mill which was built in 1835. The mill was closed in 1965 and it was demolished in 1979 to prepare for the present day dam and fish ladder.
Stay in a Lighthouse.
Built in 1875, the historic West Point Lighthouse is PEI's tallest lighthouse at 67ft 8 in. The Lighthouse electrified in 1963. There were only 2 keepers in it's 88 years. Accommodations feature 13 rooms highlighted by the Lightkeeper's Suite overlooking the Northumberland Strait.
New Rustico Harbor
Green Gables is the name of a 19th-century farm in Cavendish. It is one of the most notable literary landmarks in Canada. The Green Gables farm and its surroundings are the setting for the popular Anne of Green Gables novels by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Birthday dinner at Windows by the Water Restaurant.
Along the banks of the Montague River, stands a historic home that was built over 150 years ago. This early circa 1850, tow story building has been connected with the first commercial history of Montague, being known as one of the earliest general stores first operated in the town.
Restoration transformed the building into a quaint Restaurant in 1995.
Much of the homes history remains intact, such as the door molding, hardwood floors and the beautiful Silver Maple Trees that stand tall through the deck.

When Prince Edward Island's railway was abandoned in 1989 Islanders were quick to notice a unique opportunity. The idea of a tip-to-tip shared use walking and cycling trail in the summer and a snowmobile trail in the winter was born.

We left out of Wood Island via the ferry.
Luckily someone told us we should make a reservation for the ferry. When we called we were able to get the day we wanted just a lot earlier than we wanted.
