Historic downtown Park City, Utah

Emmett "Bud" Wright
In 1920, Bud made his living skiing, but not as a ski patrolman or ski racer.  Bud worked as a lineman for the local telephone company, traveling the mountains surrounding Park City on his 10 feet long, handmade skis, repairing the phone lines.  When Bud broke one of his skis, he was forced to use skis of two different lengths because, unlike today, no ski shops existed to purchase a new pair.

Sutherlin, Oregon

Well Grandma we finally made it.
For many many years Dave's Grandma has told us we needed to go to Burney Falls.

Over 100 million gallons of water, enough to fill two million bathtubs, stream over the edge of the 129-foot high falls each day.

Burney Creek

The Falls Loop trail takes you through some of the most spectacular scenery in the park.

The chalk-like wall you see along the trail are remnants of a pre-Ice Age Lake Britton,

Had to hit the town of Shasta.  We heard they had tye dye on clearance.

Not to mention they are home to the original Black Bear Diner

Coupeville, on Whidbey Island

We toured the Boeing Everett Factory. The factory is the location for production of the Boeing 747, 767, 777 and 787.  The tour includes the main assembly building, which holds the record in Guinness World Records for the larget building in the world by volume.  It is 472 million cu. ft. and covers 98.3 acres.

North Cascades Scenic Byway loops between massive peaks and along lakes colored turquoise by glacial silt, you'll see why these mountains are called "the American Alps".  We did this route in 2013 and thought this are was so beautiful it warranted a second visit.
