Riviere du Loop, Quebec Canada

Saint-Lawrence Seaway

Training for 2015 Race across America :)

Cole Island, New Brunswick
TNT Campground

We were awakened by a flock of Canadian Geese flying over the motor home this morning.  Good thing because our atomic clocks are an hour off, because they do not have Atlantic time zones.

Montreal, Quebec Canada

We were hanging in there pretty good with no navigation until we hit Quebec.  Whoa, all the signs are in French.  We gave up and went to Costco and bought a navigation unit.

With our new Garmin in hand we visited Cathedral-Basilica Mary Queen of the World

Marie-Reine-Du-Monde
also known as
Mary Queen of the World

The Cathedral is a scaled-down replica of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and was erected thanks to Msgr Ignace Bourget, the second Bishop of Montreal (1840-1876) who laid the foundation stone on August 28, 1870.

Monsignor Ignace Bourget's Monument.

Monsignor Bourget is a distant ancestor of Dave's.
Who said the apple doesn't fall far from the tree?

The Bishops' Mortuary Chapel. The walls and the floor are made of Italian marble and mosaic.  In the center stands Msgr Bourget's tomb, sculpted in Rome.

Check out the squirrel getting a drink out of the fountain.

Their Comic-Con was in town.  Lots of people on the streets in costumes.

After spending all day in town we just needed something quick, easy and nearby.  However someone miss read our gauges and didn't put any water in before we left the campground this morning.  With  no campgrounds near by we opted to overnight at a very busy full service Rest Area in the center of the Highway and help ourselves to their water at 9:00 pm. Showers sure felt good though.

Oh Canada

Crossing the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls.

They gave us 2 inches to spare on each side.

Falls from the Canadian side

Horseshoe Falls

Rainbows are an everyday occurrence.

American Falls (left) and Bridal Falls (far right)
Hurricane Deck at Cave of the Winds is under Bridal Falls. We were getting pounded by it just 2 days ago on the US side.

Ride over the Niagara River at the Whirlpool.

Cute little town of Niagara on the Lake

Getting some fresh fruit and vegetables.

Taking a break on our bike ride and enjoying the view of Navy Island and Goat Island.

Lots of beautiful houses line the Niagara River.
This one is for sale if anyone is interested.

We decided to each pick our favorite and take a picture.

 Any guesses?

Ate our first Poutine.
It's French Fries, Cheese Curds with Gravy on top. Not bad just not sure we will order it again.

Saint Lawrence River.
View from Grenville Campground.

As we neared Canada I called Verizon to add Canadian services to our phones. We got a plan for calling and texting.  However they informed me that they do not offer a data plan and usage in Canada would be billed at $2.05 a MB. Yikes!
This means no navigation and no googling campgrounds. Did I mention NO navigation?
We have had to resort to paper maps :(
Wish us luck.
