Road trip #35 begins.
Arizona here we come.
The Painted Rock Petroglyph Site and Campground is located on Rocky Point Rd in Gila Bend. The site provides the opportunity to view an ancient archaeological site containing hundreds of petroglyphs, produced centuries ago by. There are also inscriptions made by people who passed through during historic times. Several historic trails lie within the campground. The Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail, The Butterfield Overland Stage Route and the Mormon Battalion Trail are three trails that played prominent roles in the history of this area.
While California Covid vaccinations were only being offered to people age 65+ we learned that Arizona had 3 counties that were offering vaccinations to people 55+ and you did not have to be a Arizona resident. We were able to get appointments to receive our first Covid vaccines in Apache Junction.
We each received this nice coupon for future shopping.
We would have been happy to pay them for giving us the vaccine.
