Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the nation. Plummeting 620 feet, the waterfall is fed by rain, snowmelt and underground springs on Larch Mountain. Multnomah Falls offers one of the best places in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area to view the basalt rock formations exposed by Ice Age floods.
Taken back towards the Visitors Center from the top of Multnomah Fall.
This was our view from the top of the falls down. There were lots of switchbacks to climb from the bottom to the top. A 1.1 mile trek.
The trails are in great condition and well maintained by the Park.
Lots of water makes for lots of ferns and moss.
It started to rain on us towards the end of the hike but we were prepared with rain gear.
