There are a few myths as to why this domed shape is called Church Rock. Whatever its history it cuts an interesting shape out of the horizon. It was owned by Claud Young in the 1940's who used dynamite to blow out a portion of the interior to put supplies for his livestock. Today, it is still owned by the Young family.

This break is not trail weldable. They remove his track bar and we head off to town to get it welded. The shop welds it while we wait. We then head back out to the trail.

Wonder how the Poison Spider Trail received its name? It stems from the legend that a little girl named Mary Jane Francis died there from the bite of a poison spider in 1896!
