A spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from A.D. 600 to A.D. 1300.
We took the Balcony House Tour which is the most adventurous Cliff Dwelling tour. You climb a 32 foot homemade ladder, crawl through an 18 inch wide and 12 foot long tunnel and climb up a 60 foot open cliff face with stone steps and two 10 foot homemade ladders to return topside.
Outstanding in the field
Lowry Pueblo
The Lowry Great Kiva , 47 feet in diameter, is one of the largest kivas found in this area. This kiva was probably a central gathering place for Ancestral Puebloans from several hundred square miles. The unique stone features on the floor represent Winter People and Summer People

The Four Corners Monument marks the spot of the only place in the United States where four states come together in one place. Those states are Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. There is a marker on the exact site where the four state corners come together, making it possible to stand in all four states at the same time. The Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation manages the monument and charges a fee of $5.00 per person, cash only. Navajo vendors sell handmade jewelry, crafts and traditional foods nearby. Be sure to check the hours of operation. This is no longer a place you can just stop by a take a few pictures when ever you want.

We stayed at Sundance RV Park right on Main Street in town. Very nice. We will be swinging back by here when we head south because someone left our new special Y on the hose bib.
