Table Mesa Road, Arizona

We found a great place to camp

Up on this hill across from our camp is an Ancestral Puebloan site

Remnants of what were once walls and structures

Ancients rock art

Petroglyphs

Dave getting a closer look

Wondering how he's going to get down

In talking with a few different people we have been told that on top of this mesa there are ruins of a Ancestral Puebloan Fort.

Before we took on the challenge of climbing to the top Per flew his drone to check it out

With proof of the ruins we decided to climb to the top

It was a real scramble

Pottery pieces

I made it!

Can you see the Jeeps down there?

Dave, Per and I on top

Now we have to make our way down

Upper and Lower Terminator Trail
We were joined by fellow FMCA Jeepers that live in the area.

Per trying the impossible

Stuck on a rock

Per being Per

Jim broke a shock hose

He snorted at me

Raw Deal Trail

Our day ended early when Dave noticed that our track bar mount had several cracks in it
After getting back to the pavement Dave in our Jeep and Per following in his Jeep went to Phoenix to get our mount repaired.

Die Hard Trail
There goes Per again

The pointed mesa in the distance is the one we climbed to the top

Check out my heart

Local rancher rounding up his cattle

Beware

This way to Crown King Mine

Nice shady lunch spot

Fort Misery is now a ghost town. Fort Misery was built by a man who helped build the railroad to Crown King.

Oops, we are going to need a little help to get off this rock

We are on a shelf road and there is a traffic jam.  The front jeep keeps breaking down and there is no way to get around him.

The site of a former gold mining town, Crown King. The community is named after the Crowned King mine, but the name was shortened to Crown King in 1888.

Notice all of Per's solar panels.  He generates enough power for his motorhome and ours.  A great way to boondock.
