This was a mining boom town founded on wild and distorted advertising.  300 hopeful people swarmed here.  A post office was established in August 1926.  In February 1927 the post office closed and the town died.

Started out on the hike but decided to turn back as the weather changed.  In our shorts and t-shirts we were not prepared for strong winds and light rain.

  1. Dry camped at Stove Pipe Wells. They have 14 sites with full hook up. Reservations strongly recommended. Fuel available at reasonable rates.
