John Stanton purchased this 1939 model G Servi-Car Side-Value V-Twin for his Babylon New York Dodge-Plymouth car dealership. Stanton or one of his employee drove the Servi-Car utility vehicle to a customer's home to pick up a car needing service. Once there, he lowered the bike's tow bar and attached it to the car's rear bumper, transporting the Servi-Car back to the dealership along with the car.
When the Harley-Davidson archives acquired it, the bike still had Stanton Motor Service forms in the trunk.
A rust-encrusted Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was swept away by the Japan tsunami in March 2011 was found in April 2012, washed up on an island off the coast of British Columbia. It's now preserved at the Harley-Davidson museum.
21 year old Elvis Presley purchased this bike new with a price tag $903.00. Presley appeared with it on the cover of May 1956 Enthusiast. The title of the accompanying article was "Who is Elvis Presley?" revealing that the singer was not the phenomenon he would soon become.

The Bronze Fonz
Gertie the Duck is a world-famous mallard and an icon of Milwaukee history. The story of her heroic efforts to hatch six ducklings became an inspiration for many war-weary Americans near the end of World War II. Gertie's story began in April 1945 when Milwaukee Journal reported that a mallard duck was nesting on a wood piling under the Wisconsin Avenue bridge. A total of nine eggs were laid and the duck kept vigil atop her nest despite throngs of visitors and motorists stopping on the bridge daily to check the progress of the expectant mother. Mother's Day cards began arriving for the mallard, the Boy Scouts formed a Gertie Patrol and a Wisconsin Humane Society officer was stationed to watch the brood as six of the nine eggs eventually produced chicks.
The Milwaukee Mile Speedway is a one mile long oval race track located at Wisconsin State Fair Park. The Milwaukee Mile is the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, hosting at least one auto race every year since 1903 (except during U.S. involvement in World War II). It operated as a dirt track until it was paved in 1954.
