Plaster City is located 17 miles west of El Centro, at an elevation of 105 feet.
It is the site of the last industrial narrow gauge railroad in the United States. The 3 feet gauge line runs north to Fish Creek mine, a gypsum quarry and brings gypsum from the quarry to the plant. The plant is one of the largest gypsum plants in the country.  They manufacture more than half of the drywall in the United States and own the town of Plaster City.

Spent some time locating the corners of my brother's land just north of Plaster City.
