UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens

Established in 1890, The University of California Botanical Garden is a 34 acre botanical garden located on the University of California, Berkeley campus, in Strawberry Canyon. The Garden was originally established on the University's central campus. It was moved to its present location in the Berkeley Hills above the main campus in the 1920's.   It is one of the most diverse plant collections in the United States, and famous for its large number of rare and endangered species from around the world.  The Garden now contains more than 20,000 accessions, representing 324 plant families, 12,000 different species and subspecies, and 2,885 genera.

Very cool

We bought a new Passion Vine

Not part of the garden, but as we approached the entrance of the garden we heard a loud crashing noise.  We looked up the hill and saw what we thought was a branch falling out of a tree.  As we were exiting the parking lot we could see that the whole tree had fallen down.

  1. Hard a hard time finding a Walmart or RV park close by. We stayed 40 minutes away at the Tradewinds RV park in Vallejo.
